Hadi eyvallah. Seyahatte kalın ,sağlıcakla kalın...
Not: Ayran veya tereyağı yapma planları içindeyseniz, yoğurdunuzu yanınıza almanızı şiddetle tavsiye ederim. Kusursuz bir ürün çıkacağına dair kuşkunuz olmasın.
After a looong time, I stopped by to drop a line. The natural wonder you are seeing above is not from Swiss Alps, it is from my hometown which is Fındıklı, Rize. Here is Küçük Yayla which we have reached after perfect (!)a couple of hours-travel. By the way, Küçük Yayla means ''Little Highland'. Do not judge by the name. It is 2600 meters high.
The road reaches Küçük Yayla does not look like any other roads reaching Ayder or other roads reaching popular highlands all around the Eastern Black Sea region. After all, you can not believe that it is a road. It is just a car-wide pathway which is only weeded. I'm not done, you should go up there with your four-wheel vehicle. Otherwise, you are gonna go there by walking if you are willing to do so.
From the stones which are a truck wheel sized, to the bodies swinging just as an ayran*, it was a unique experience my friends. When I came home, I did not feel my feet while I was getting off the Willys. As the phrase goes, I was like a baby who is starting to learn how to walk. Although it was really hard to go up to the Küçük Yayla, I bet you wouldn't change it for the peace and the absolute silence Mr.Acun**. There is a complete peace which is not like that in most of the highlands. It is because there is no one living there instead of a couple of dwellers who are mostly staying there for summer. As you can see on the photo that I took, there is snow at the middle of July. As I told you, the altitude is 2600 mt. which is not bad at all.
BTW, I strongly recommend you to stay at these kind of highlands at least
one night in order to both rest up from travel-sore and absorb the air during
the night which would be a wonderful experience.
Ta-ra! Stay travelling, peace out!
P.S
If you are planning to make Ayran or butter, you should definitely take
your raw milk with you. Do not doubt that it is gonna turn out a perfect product.
* Ayran: Drink made of yoghurt and water.
** Mr. Acun: A well-known Media Boss in Turkey.
